About NudistMap
NudistMap maps clothing-optional places in every country and region we cover: beaches, resorts, campgrounds, hot springs, saunas and pools. Each place shows its status, where that status comes from, and practical data such as monthly sea temperatures and EU water quality ratings.
What the status labels mean
- Official: the land owner or authority designates the area as clothing optional.
- Naturist only: a private or designated place where nudity is expected.
- Clothing optional: nudity is allowed.
- Tolerated and Customary: nudity is common and accepted, without a formal designation.
- Listed: documented as a naturist place in encyclopedias, without more detail.
- Prohibited and Closed: a verified source shows nudity is now banned there, or the place has closed. The page stays so the change is findable.
Statuses start from open data; where a page shows a checked date, a person has confirmed the status against an official or manager source (how we verify). Rules change, so always follow local signs.
Our content rules
We publish no explicit images, list no swinger clubs or other adult venues and never copy other directories. See what we mean by naturism, our content policy and data sources and licenses.
Some booking links earn us a commission; it never affects listings or status. See the affiliate disclosure. Contact and legal details are in the imprint.
Who runs NudistMap
NudistMap is built and maintained by Reto Pascal Wyss, owner of World Wyss Web, a one-person web studio in Beinwil (Freiamt), Switzerland.
Reto writes the data pipeline that turns OpenStreetMap, Wikidata, NASA POWER, NOAA sea temperatures, EU bathing-water reports and GeoNames into the place pages on this site, keeps the status rules in the content policy, and reviews every image before it is shown.
Corrections and status updates are welcome by email (see the imprint). Each page states which source its status comes from and whether NudistMap has verified it.
