  1. Status changeData

Tenth verification batch: French Atlantic and Breton beaches, Belgium, Cadaqués

100 more places were checked and 47 now carry a source, among them Sérignan's dedicated naturist beach, Pissouri in Cyprus and Maguelone. Belgium's only nude beach at Bredene is confirmed from the municipality, Breda's Galderse Meren from the gemeente via NOS, and the French tourism boards record designated naturist zones at Choiseau (municipal authorisation of 2002), Nantois, Ripaille on Lake Geneva, Esclamandes, Mateille and La Lagune. El Puerto de Santa María reserves 60,000 m² of Playa de Levante for naturism. Five Cap de Creus and Cadaqués coves gained the provincial tourism board's description. Across ten batches 558 of 1,000 places now show a checked source.

  2. Status changeData

Ninth verification batch: Sydney harbour beaches, Sylt, Brighton and the Dutch coast

100 more places were checked and 46 now carry a source. The New South Wales parks service designates Cobblers Beach and Lady Bay as nude bathing areas but does not permit nudity at Little Congwong. Langevelderslag is designated under Noordwijk's bylaw, Duke's Mound is retained in Brighton's Black Rock plans, El Mago is Calvià's first official nude beach, Forza d'Agrò is Sicily's first naturism oasis, and Cuxhaven's Duhnen allows nude bathing only in its marked zone. Mojácar's three protected coves and Dénia's Cala d'Aigua Dolç gained municipal or regional sources. The Hirschberg campsite on the Müritz turns out to be a textile site, so it is recorded as prohibited. Across nine batches 511 of 900 places now show a checked source.

  3. Status changeData

Eighth verification batch: Croatia, Italy, the Baltic coast and 20 campsites

100 more places were checked and 60 now carry a source, the best yield so far because many were clubs and campsites with published rules. Newly confirmed municipal designations: Focene and Is Benas by council ordinance, Feraxi as Sardinia's fourth naturist beach, Ilha Deserta in Faro, the Baaiegat in Het Twiske, Hostivař in Prague, Malmö's pier 10, Giruliai and Palanga's women's beach, Armands Beach and Zipolite, decreed Oaxaca's only nudist beach in 2024. Tasmania's First Little Beach is recorded as prohibited after the council rescinded its 2023 clothing-optional decision. Nudity is required at Solaris, Riva Bella, Arnaoutchot, Markeplaat, Sonnensee and the Délegyháza oasis; most other naturist campsites publish no such rule and are recorded as clothing optional. Across eight batches 465 of 800 places now show a checked source.

  4. Status changeData

Seventh verification batch: campsites, Dutch and French beaches, the Canaries

100 more places were checked and 49 now carry a source. New municipal designations: Callantsoog under Schagen's 2026 bylaw, De Strook after Wijdemeren's 2024 trial, Torreilles by a 2023 arrêté, Baia delle Ninfe in Alghero, l'Ahuir in Gandia, and Portugal's Praia 19 and Adiça. Nudity is now prohibited at Salomon Beach under the Virgin Islands National Park compendium, and La Croix-Valmer's town hall requires swimsuits on all its beaches, so the former authorised zone is recorded as prohibited. Eleven campsites and clubs were checked against their own rules: nudity is required at Bare Oaks, El Templo del Sol, El Fonoll, La Genèse, Ányás and FKK Bremen; the Istrian and Krk camps are clothing optional. Across seven batches 405 of 700 places now show a checked source.

  5. Status changeData

Sixth verification batch: Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil and the Baltic

Another 100 beaches were checked and 55 now carry a source. Newly confirmed as designated: Praia do Meco, Praia dos Alteirinhos and Praia das Adegas through Portugal's municipal deliberations, Cala de les Roques Planes as the only nudist cove in Calonge's 2024 ordinance, Lecciona by a Viareggio council resolution, Dragonudden in Umeå and Strandbad Wostra in Dresden. Anglet's tourist office states that naturism is prohibited at Plage de l'Océan and Plage des Dunes, and the former nudist stretch at the Tordera mouth is closed, its zone moved to Platja de la Conca. Seven Murcia and Valencia beaches gained a regional beach-register source. Four records stayed unresolved after review because the sources conflicted. Across six batches 356 of 600 places now show a checked source.

  6. Status changeData

Fifth verification batch: 100 Spanish, French and German places

The next 100 places, 78 of them Spanish beaches, were checked; 48 now carry a source, mostly municipal and regional tourism pages. Cap d'Agde and Salou's new Enlliscalls beach are designated, as are Feringasee near Munich, the Langener Waldsee, Hard on Lake Constance and the Undeloh naturist trail. Flevo-Natuur and Camping Baldarin require nudity; Leucate's naturist beach and the Birkenheide club are clothing optional. El Ambolo in Xàbia is closed for rockfall risk. Three records were left unresolved after review: El Portús, whose campsite went textile in 2025, Es Carbó under Ses Salines' disputed 2023 ordinance, and the Groene Ster. Across five batches 301 of 500 places now show a checked source.

  7. Status changeData

Fourth verification batch: 100 US resorts, campgrounds and hot springs

The next 100 US places were checked, 76 of them against the venue's own rules or an official page. Most private resorts and clubs that open data had filed as "designated" are now recorded from their own policies: nudity is required at Lake Como, Glen Eden, White Tail, Kaniksu Ranch and Blue Lake, and clothing optional at Caliente, Paradise Lakes, Sunny Rest and most campgrounds. Six Saline Valley pools in Death Valley are tolerated under the Park Service's 2019 plan. Skinny Dipper Hot Springs stays closed by BLM order and Keough Hot Springs requires swimsuits. Across all four batches 253 of 400 places now show a checked source.

  8. Status changeData

Third verification batch: Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South America

100 more places were checked, 50 of them resolved against official or federation sources. Wreck Beach is confirmed as designated by British Columbia since 1983; Werrong Beach in the Royal National Park and Point Impossible are designated under state law; Uruguay's Chihuahua and La Sirena carry municipal resolutions. Nudity is prohibited at Sandy Bay in Cape Town after new SANParks signs, and at Praia Mole under a 2016 Florianópolis law. Kings Beach is tolerated rather than allowed after a 2025 parks notice. Twenty-one Spanish beaches gained a regional tourism-board source.

  9. Status changeData

Top 100 European places checked against sources

The 100 best-documented European places outside the first US batch were checked against municipal, regional-tourism, federation and news sources; 73 now carry a verified status with the source linked on the page. Changes worth knowing: Charco del Palo is a nudist village rather than nude-required; Euronat and CHM Montalivet require nudity in common areas; Mar Bella, Donauinsel, Pihlajasaari and Ågestabadet are officially designated; nudity is prohibited at Playa de la Caleta in Cádiz; Halensee in Berlin and the E3 Strand have closed. Fourteen British beaches now carry British Naturism's own description of their status.

  10. Status changeData

First 100 US places checked against sources

The 100 best-documented US places were checked against official, land-manager, federation and news sources; 54 now carry a verified status with the source linked on the page, and 46 stay unverified because no authoritative page states the rule. Changes worth knowing: Gunnison Beach and Black's Beach are tolerated rather than designated; nudity is prohibited at Kehena, Little Beach, Moshup, Lighthouse Beach, Higbee Beach and Cape Cod National Seashore; Mazo Beach has been closed since 2016. Two new status labels, Prohibited and Closed, keep those pages online with the answer.

  11. Site

Laws, organisations, glossary and twelve new guides

New sections: nudity laws by country and US state, the federations behind naturism, a glossary and guides on skinny dipping, nude yoga, FKK, resort rules, hot-spring etiquette, body acceptance, families, safety, photography and packing. Place pages now link to the law for their state or country. We also published how we verify a status and the editorial policy.

  12. DataSite

Hotels and B&Bs split from resorts

Clothing-optional hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments were listed as resorts. They now have their own type, clothing-optional hotels & guesthouses, with 53 places at launch, most of them in France, Spain and Italy. Resorts and clubs stay under nudist resorts & clubs.

  13. Site

    Near-me pages per type

The near me finder now has a page per type, so "nude beaches near me" and "hot springs near me" open with the filter set.

  14. Data

Enrichment: climate, sea temperature and bathing water for every place

Every place page gained monthly air temperature, precipitation and cloud cover (NASA POWER, 2001–2025), monthly sea surface temperature for sea beaches (NOAA OISST, 1991–2020) and the EU bathing water rating of the nearest monitored site. Details on the data sources page.
