Naturisten Federatie Nederland
The Naturisten Federatie Nederland (NFN) is the Dutch naturist federation, founded in 1961 and the Netherlands' member of the International Naturist Federation. It publishes the UIT! guide to naturist places, issues the INF card and defends the Dutch law that lets municipalities designate nude beaches.
What does the NFN do?
The federation groups local naturist associations and recognises campsites, saunas and holiday parks that meet its rules. Its annual guide and app list nude beaches, naturist campgrounds and saunas across the country.
The Netherlands has one of the clearest legal frameworks in Europe: nudity is permitted on beaches and land that a municipality designates, and elsewhere only where it does not disturb others. The NFN works with councils when designations are reviewed.
Frequently asked questions
Is nude swimming legal in the Netherlands?
Yes, on designated beaches and at other places where nobody is disturbed; municipalities mark official nude beaches with signs. Dutch saunas are textile-free by default.
What is the UIT! guide?
The NFN's yearly guide (and app) to naturist beaches, campsites, saunas and events in the Netherlands and nearby.
